Your data stays yours

Open source, without cloud lock-in

As software developers, we also dislike cloud lock-in, closed systems, and the feeling that your own data does not truly belong to you. We understand the concern that an online tool could disappear one day and take years of work with it. That is why we make a concrete commitment in two stages.

Stage 1: make hosted Condui as open as possible

The online edition stays easy to use without locking your projects onto our servers:

  • Downloadable projects. Keep every project as a portable, fully editable archive.
  • Offline PWA. Install Condui and continue working locally without internet.
  • Unlimited local work. Create as many local projects as you want on your device.
  • Cloud when useful. Add managed storage, synchronization, and Premium features when needed.
  • Easy to move. Open the same archive in the online and Community editions.

Stage 2: Community as a lasting guarantee

If Condui ever stops operating, you should not be left without working software or access to your projects. Community is a more limited, self-hosted edition that provides that peace of mind: If convenience and peace of mind matter most, the hosted Premium edition is the better choice.

  • Nearly the same local experience. Approximately 95% identical, without sign-in and with every drawing feature.
  • Fully compatible projects. Move archives both ways between Community and the online edition.
  • Strictly local storage. Projects stay in browser storage on the device you use.
  • Managed by you. You build the container, install updates, and arrange your own backups.
  • No official support. There is no managed cloud storage, recovery service, or support guarantee.
