What industrial work is Condui suited for?
Condui draws one-wire (single-line) diagrams of low-voltage installations. That is the diagram showing how power flows from the supply to every panel, circuit and device.
In an industrial context, you can use it to draw:
- a main distribution board with sub-distribution boards in workshops, warehouses, SMEs and small production spaces;
- three-phase supplies (3N400V) with the earthing system (TT, TN-S, TN-C, TN-C-S or IT) on the diagram;
- motors, pumps, transformers and fixed appliances such as heating;
- relays, contactors and timer relays, with the coil on a control circuit kept linked to the contact in the circuit it switches;
- terminal strips and rails in the panel view.
What Condui does not do
Condui is not a full CAE package. Be clear about that up front, so you do not pick the wrong tool.
In Condui you do not draw complete multi-line control circuit diagrams with automatic cross-references. There are no PLC I/O overviews, no automatic wire numbering, no reference designations according to IEC 81346 and no manufacturer database with article numbers. Condui also does not replace calculation software for full cable and selectivity sizing.
If you build machines or control cabinets at scale, a specialised CAE package remains the right choice. Condui fits when the distribution and documentation of the installation are what matter.
What you do get
Everything lives in one project, so the diagram, panel and plan share the same codes:
- Panel view: every cabinet and sub-distribution board as it is built, with modules in their physical positions and the connections between them.
- Cabinet labels: label strips for PDF or Brother P-touch, straight from the panel layout.
- Hardware tally: the components used as a practical overview when you build panels.
- Cable list and external influences: cable lengths per route and the AREI table per room, explained below.
- Plans: import a floor plan as PDF, DWG or DXF, set its scale and draw devices and cable routes.
- Export: PDF with automatic pagination, and DXF with the electrical symbols aligned to the architect's drawing.
- Project file: datasheets, inspection reports and old plans kept with the project itself, linked to the devices.
- Collaboration: version history, a stable link or QR code beside the panel, and shared projects for teams.
Cable list with lengths and complete cable routes
Condui builds a cable list per circuit with every cable section in order, from the board to the last point, with cable type and length. You see the complete route of the conductors, not just the first cable leaving the board.
The length comes from your own input, from the cable route you draw on the plan, or from an estimate based on the scaled plan, the floor height and the mounting height of the devices. Condui adds up the total length per cable type, which is useful for ordering and costing.
Condui also uses those lengths in its checks. If a cable is longer than the length its protection still covers, you get a warning. You export the cable list as CSV or include it as a page in the PDF.
External influences table
For a non-domestic installation you record, per room, which external influences the installation is exposed to, such as temperature, water, dust, mechanical impacts or the competence of the people present. Condui creates that table following AREI Book 1, chapter 2.10, with the codes AA to AN, BA to BE and CA to CB.
When Condui recognises a room name, such as a technical room or a garage, it suggests values that you check yourself. The table stays with the project. You download it as an Excel file and it becomes a landscape page in the PDF export.
Condui alongside an extensive CAE package
The table compares Condui with extensive CAE packages in general, such as EPLAN, SEE Electrical or Caneco. Capabilities differ per package and per licence. These names are trademarks of their respective owners.

What does it cost?
Local projects are free and unlimited. You can upgrade one project with a one-time payment, or take a subscription for unlimited cloud projects. Teams pay per user. See the current amounts on the pricing page.
Installations in Belgium
If you draw for an installation in Belgium, Condui checks theoretical AREI rules and missing project data while you draw. This is an aid, not a guarantee at inspection. You can find more explanation in the AREI guide.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Condui an alternative to EPLAN?
- For part of the work. For one-wire diagrams, panel layouts, cabinet labels and the documentation of low-voltage installations, yes. For multi-line control circuit diagrams, PLC documentation or panel building at scale, EPLAN or a comparable package remains more suitable.
- Can I draw a control circuit diagram in Condui?
- To a limited extent. You link the coil of a relay, contactor or timer relay on a control circuit to the contact in the switched circuit. You do not draw a complete multi-line control circuit diagram with cross-references in Condui.
- Can I draw a three-phase installation?
- Yes. You draw three-phase supplies in 3N400V and put the earthing system (TT, TN or IT) on the diagram.
- Can I use DWG or DXF files?
- Yes. You import DWG and DXF as a background for the plan and export the electrical symbols and labels back to DXF.
- How do I try Condui?
- Open the demo and explore a complete project in the browser, without installing anything. If you want to draw yourself, create a free project. Local projects are unlimited, so you can redraw an existing installation before you decide.
